LEWIS MUMFORD
ANNUAL AWARDS 2009

2009 Lewis Mumford Awards
Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibility

Each year, Architects/ Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR) recognizes and honors individuals and organizations that further our mission of Peace, Sustainable Development, and the Environment. The National Board requests your assistance in nominations for the 2009 Lewis Mumford Awards.  Award winners are invited to attend our next Mumford Awards Ceremony, May, 2009 in Chicago.

A list of previous recipients is included at the bottom of this document.

This is your chance to reward those deserving recognition for outstanding achievement in any or all of these three categories.

Please fill out the form at the bottom of the page or download in Word Format (right click and hit "save as") to nominate worthy individuals or organizations.  If you have any questions, please contact Greg VanMechelen, info@vanmechelenarchitects.com, fax 510.558.1076. Nominations must be received by March 31, 2009

Nominations are reviewed by the National Board of ADPSR, who will make the final decision.  We look forward to your participation and your nominations.

History of the Mumford Awards

In 1992, ADPSR instituted an annual Lewis Mumford awards program to honor people and organizations that exemplify ADPSR’s goals of peace, preservation of the natural and built environment, and socially responsible development. Lewis Mumford’s writings continue to inspire and remind us that architecture, design, and planning, must respond to human needs, harmonize with its surroundings, and reflect the aspirations and social context of our civilization.

We are proud to honor the winners of the 2008 Mumford Awards:
