Wood-Revival Launched
Wood-Revival , an e-mail list begun earlier this year gives you the latest information on when and where to get salvaged lumber. This free service for architects and builders is sponsored by Materials for the Future Foundation, the Center for Economic Conversion, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9. Subscribers will receive information via e-mail about high quality wood (e.g., old growth Douglas fir and redwood) that is being salvaged, primarily from closing military bases throughout the Bay Area. Announcements will include the types and dimensions of wood available, where and when you can purchase it, and contact names and phone numbers for further information. In addition, the service will post technical information on the performance of salvaged wood, occasionally survey subscribers about their experience with the wood, and allow subscribers to share relevant information.

To obtain subscription instructions, background information on this project, or information on salvaged lumber, please contact Maria Sanders, marias@igc.org .
