The Green Building Materials Showcase is part of our continuing series at the Pacific Energy Center. The purpose of the event is to showcase the latest resource efficient and healthy materials to the design and construction community of Northern California. Both supply and demand of sustainable building resources are growing at an ever faster rate. The Green Materials Showcase offers a unique opportunity for interaction between seekers and suppliers sharing a strong interest in practicing and promoting sustainable design, construction and development. Last year's showcase generated a great deal of excitement among the over 500 attendees and participants. Vendors were pleased and amazed at the high percentage of attendees who were potential clients: architects and designers (including Callison, Gensler, HOK, MBT, NBBJ, and SMWM), project and facility managers (including the EPA and the GSA), contractors (Swinerton & Walberg and others), city officials (San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Berkeley), and building owners (Intel). Every vendor queried said they would re-attend. Attendees also packed the seminar rooms to learn about a broad range of environmental building products and methodologies. The Green Materials Showcase is the largest on-going "green" materials trade show on the West Coast. This year we've broadened our outreach and expect well over 500 attendees. We have room for over 50 vendors showcasing products from non-virgin or renewable resources with high-recycled content, low embodied energy, long life-span, no or low VOCs, and containing no PVC. BONUS!! All participating vendors will be listed on our web site so that those who cannot attend can find information after the showcase. Two lectures/presentations every hour provide loads of information on a variety of green building topics. The Alameda County Waste Management Authority's (ACWMA) ReSourceFull Showcase trailer will be there again this year. The trailer features more than 90 green building materials in use. |
