david kibbey
memorial scholarship fund

The David Kibbey Fund was established in 2001 Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR) to further the study of healthy built environments that contribute to human well-being and ecological balance. A scholarship provided by The David Kibbey Fund will allow students and professionals to broaden their understanding of systems, methods and materials that can prevent Chemical Injury. We are seeking solutions to environmental issues in the built environment that feature good indoor air quality, which involves freedom from environmental toxins, including electro-magnetic fields and molds.

David Kibbey was an indoor air quality specialist and proponent of natural ecological building, a beloved core member of ADPSR, and editor/publisher of Nor Cal ADPSR's Architectural Resource Guide.

The scholarship is open to United States residents in graduate and post-graduate work as well as independent study, with a priority given to those applicants showing need, a history of involvement in the field of healthy building, and promise of continuing practical application of their study.

Applicantsare encouraged to consider aspects of ecological construction that have not received adequate research attention to date. Studies related to natural systems, by which no company or industry stands to benefit, are of particular interest to ADPSR-Nor Cal.

One or two scholarships of approximately $5,000 will be awarded this cycle.
