The West Coast
Architectural Resource Guide
ADPSR-NorCal member David Kibbey edited the first version of the ARG in 1998. Many other ADPSR-NorCal members contributed to the guide. David provided constant updates to the ARG until his death in 2001. In 2003 ADPSR-NorCal is making a substantial revision of the ARG for publication in October 2003 during the Green Materials Showcase. (more)

The David Kibbey
Memorial Fund
In honor of the immeasurable contributions of David Kibbey to our organization and the green and healthy building community, ADPSR-NorCal has established the David Kibbey Memorial Fund to provide small scholarships for activists in the field of green and healthy building. (contribute)

Our Continously Updated Website

We are constantly trying to improve our ability to provide valuable content for our members, industry professionals and the general public. With the launch (August 2003) of this major revision of the website we hope to increase viewer participation and provide the information our viewers want in a friendlier and more visually stimulating form. We continue to use a text based format which doesn't use programing because it can be more easily maintained by our web impaired all volunteer staff.

The Resource-full Showcase

In 2000 with a grant from the Alameda County Waste Management Authority (ACWMA) ADPSR-NorCal members and friends built a traveling environmental exhibit demonstrating recycled, reused, recyclable, and non-toxic materials in construction and remodeling. The Showcase, which is a 28 foot custom built trailer, constructed with over 50 recycled content and sustainable building materials, includes product information targeted to both a professional and non-professional audience. . The Showcase demonstrates many building products that can be put in use today, along with construction practices that increase efficiency, decrease waste and save money.

Building Less Waste
NorCal ADPSR has released a report authored by Architect Darrel DeBoer called "Building Less Waste". It concerns reducing resource consumption in the building industry and was sponsored by the Alameda County Waste Management Authority). The report is included on the CD version of the Architectural Resource Guide and is available as a membership gift at the Steward ($75) level

The Berkeley
Green Map
USA's first edition folding Green Map was created for the City of Berkeley's Climate Change Conference (Earth Day, 1998) by ADPSR-NorCal. Though compact, the Green Map lists area parks, trails, gardens, transportation, architecture, shopping, recycling, food, and organizations -- over 60 sustainable enterprises are included. A second GIS, web-based edition is coming along nicely as a project of the Sustainable Business Alliance. Please contact Linda Novick for more information about this exciting expansion that is utilizing donated ESRI ArcView GIS software.
