7/3/03, Berkeley,
Prevent LBNL & UC from Replacing a Creek in the Berkeley Hills with a Parking Lot.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), in conjunction with UC Berkeley, has just begun the EIR process for a project that - if built as planned - WILL COMPLETELY BURY A SMALL CREEK AND FILL MOST OF ITS RAVINE, in order to build a parking lot. (more)

7/15/03, Sacramento (SolarBUZZ) The California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA) has released a legislative alert regarding a proposed Republican budget (tabled for the moment) that they say targets all of the California Energy Commission (CEC) funding for solar and other renewable energy programs. CALSEIA is urging concerned businesses and individuals to contact their California representatives to prevent what they say could have dire consequences for renewable energy in California.

6/26/03, Washington, DC (Greenpeace - Clean Energy Now)
Stop Subsidies for Nuclear Energy and Fossil Fuels
For the third time, the Bush Energy Plan is being pushed in the Senate. Drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge is no longer part of the actual plan (for now), but the new plan does create environmental loopholes that benefit the oil, coal, gas, and nuclear industries. The first two unsuccessful attempts gave advocates plenty of time to tailor the bill to the needs of corporate donors that perpetuate old school energy practices. Old technologies die hard, but it's time to tell our Senators to get with the times and support more investment in renewable energy technology. This Energy Scam must be stopped.
Send an online fax to your Senator, demanding they oppose Bill S14: http://www.cleanenergynow.org

Help Protect Yellowstone Park
Next Monday, the World Heritage Committee will meet in Paris to consider a Bush administration request that international protection for Yellowstone National Park be downgraded. I urge you to contact the World Heritage Committee immediately and call on it to reject this irresponsible proposal. Distortion of Evidence
The President took the nation to war based on his assertion that Iraq posed an imminent threat to our country. Now the evidence that backed that assertion is falling apart.

Please ask Congress to establish an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate the distortion of evidence right now. If Bush and his officials deceived the American public to create support for the Iraq war, they need to be held accountable
