AFFORDABLE COMFORT '99

The goal of Affordable Comfort, Inc. (ACI), is to be the premier information broker for the residential housing performance industry. Since 1986, ACI has showcased the cutting edge of international energy knowledge and practice. Its strategic perspective has been guided by its partners and stakeholders who also are its active participants.

"We all realize that the potential pay offs are enormous," says Helen Perrine, Executive Director of Affordable Comfort, Inc. "Energy and resource efficiency. Comfort. Health. Safety. Durability. These are the heart of what guides us in providing a wide array of forums for thinkers and doers to meet, trade and profit."

April 19-24, the ACI focus on buildings in which people live and people that live in them will attract 900 professionals to a week long national conference, Affordable Comfort '99, at the Regency Hyatt O'Hare, Chicago. A core of more than 80 non-repeating sessions, an hour and forty minutes each, on Wednesday through Friday, will be bracketed by an Architect's Forum, optional in-depth four-hour courses, field trips, poster sessions, and participant-initiated sessions. A marketing seminar, trade show, and tours will also be conference highlights. Attending will be builders, architects, educators, regulators, scientists, researchers, innovators, inventors, managers, installers and manufacturers.

AC99 was designed by participants for participants. As a result, conference tracks can be customized. Session categories such as communities and cultural context, sales and marketing, building opportunities, moving the market, and health and safety are just some of the opportunities that allow attendees to choose a single focus or enjoy a greater diversity.
